Do you thrive in the buzz of live events, sound, lighting and delivering seamless productions?

We are on the lookout for experienced Venue Technicians with expertise in lighting and/or audio to support in delivering high quality entertainment and guest experience.

Set on the Manly Wharf waterfront, Felons Barrel Room is a buzzing live events space built for music, energy, and atmosphere. From international artists or local bands to packed-out events, it’s a venue where great production sits at the heart of every show — with sound, lighting, and a tight team bringing it all together.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operate and program lighting or audio systems for live music, events, and functions across the venue, delivering seamless, high-quality production experiences
  • Set up, test, and run lighting or audio equipment — from consoles and mics to speakers, monitors, and AV systems
  • Monitor sound quality or lighting execution throughout events, troubleshooting issues quickly and effectively
  • Uphold all health, safety, and licensing requirements in line with industry standards and venue policies
  • Keep workspaces, control areas, and storage organised and event-ready at all times
  • Complete post-event reports and log maintenance requests in a timely manner

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in live music, theatre, or performing arts technical production.
  • Strong capability in live sound engineering (FOH for touring bands, music festivals, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Collaborative, calm under pressure, and able to problem-solve on the fly.
  • Passionate about innovation, technology, and delivering world-class experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules.

Why you’ll love working for us?

  • Development opportunities/career pathways
  • 50% team discount precinct wide
  • Wellbeing initiatives including, run club and access to independent confidential counselling services
  • Team recognition rewards
  • Extra week of annual leave after 5 years of service
  • A collaborative and inclusive work culture, where your contributions truly matter.
  • The opportunity to play a key role in shaping one of Sydney’s most exciting new entertainment venues.
